Ben Gleeson
Manager
Ben Gleeson is a well known and respected figure within the Australian coffee industry. A qualified barista and barista trainer who knows what it takes to run a successful cafe operation, having managed the now famous Toby’s Estate Espresso Bar in Woolloomooloo. Ben is responsible for starting The Barista Academy, an independent training and consulting company, working with franchises and the unemployed alike. Passionate about promoting the coffee scene in Australia, he has participated as a judge for 2 Australian latte art competitions and 2 National coffee roasting competitions including ‘The Golden Bean’. Ben has been featured in the Sydney Morning Herald’s ‘Good Living’ highlighting the importance of quality barista training. Recently, Ben won the first ever tea infusion challenge at Café Biz ‘08, becoming Australia’s number 1 tea brewer. Committed to seeing the cafe culture in this area grow, Ben believes PeAk Central Coast, will play an instrumental role in that process.
Chris Gleeson
Manager
Chris has been involved in the cafe industry since he was a teenager and has been making coffee seriously for the past 4 years. Chris completed an apprenticeship with Australia’s premier espresso equipment importer - Espresso Company Australia (ECA). It was here he learned the technical elements of equipment maintenance and repair. In a short time Chris was promoted to National Manager of Customer Service and Support. Chris was heavily involved with research and development for the Australian espresso equipment market and brings plenty of knowledge and passion about coffee preparation and coffee equipment to PeAk Coffee. Chris believes, the right equipment choice can give your cafe the potential to be a cut above the rest.
