🏆 Roasted by a Golden Bean medal-winning roastery — the world's largest coffee roasting competition.

Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee. Legend tells of Kaldi, a goat herder who noticed his flock dancing after nibbling cherries from a strange tree. He took them to a local monk who, disapproving, threw them in the fire — only to be drawn in by the irresistible aroma. Coffee, more or less, was born.

This Yirgacheffe is a single-origin from the highlands of southern Ethiopia, the region that put African coffee on the world map.

Origin details

  • Region: Yirgacheffe, Ethiopia
  • Process: Washed
  • Altitude: 1,800–2,200 MASL

How it tastes

Bright and floral with classic Yirgacheffe character. Jasmine and bergamot up front, sweet citrus through the middle, finishing with notes of stone fruit and honey. Tea-like body, clean and elegant.

Why it's worth it

  • Single origin — traceable, distinctive, not blended
  • Roasted light to medium to highlight the natural floral and fruit notes
  • Roasted to order in small batches at our Australian roastery
  • Roast date stamped on every bag — so you know exactly how fresh it is
  • Ships within 1–2 business days, Australia-wide
  • Choose your grind — whole bean, espresso, plunger, paper filter or metal filter

Best for

Filter brewing — pour over, AeroPress and plunger really show off this bean's character. Also stunning as a black espresso.
